Version 6 of Z Weather is now available, Joomla 1.5 is now supported PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 01 January 1970
Z Content has recently released the sixth major version of Z Weather (version 6 beta 1), and is now available for download by clicking here (http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/zweather/frs/). Highlights of this release include: Both Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.5 releases are supported. To use Z Weather with Joomla 1.5, enable legacy mode first before installing. It is now much easier to add a new location. An AJAX enabled zip code to latitude/longitude converter and lookups for observation and alert county have been added, allowing one to create a new location in a matter of seconds. 3, 12 and 24 hour forecasts can now be displayed. You can now show the weather forecast in 3 hour increments with the new 3 hour forecast mode, ideal when showing a short term weather forecast. This version allows any of these forecast modes to be displayed on the site. Previous versions allowed only 12 or 24 hour forecasts to be selected for the entire site. Z Content news is now displayed directly on the Z Weather administration page. This is the first release that will notify you (from the Z Weather administrator screen) if a newer version of Z Weather is available. Z Weather is a component and module that displays weather for U.S. cities using data provided by the National Weather Service. Forecasts, current conditions and weather alerts are supported. Weather for either a single city or multiple cities can be displayed. Many display options are available, including single and multiple day forecasts, 12 hour or 24 hour forecast display, popup weather window (overlib), and vertical and horizontal layout options. Z Weather is free to use and DOES NOT have any advertising that some other weather products require.
